you could test it out with a large country kitchen style table - long enough to be a workspace at the kitchen end, and a regular 4 or 6 seat dining table under the chandelier. or buy one of the counter-height tables that seat 4-8 people. because of your work triangle (sink-stove-fridge), you might find you want that island pushed under the chandelier.
