Stick on velcro will ruin the paint big time but there are some from" command" that work very well just check at home depot or your hardware store

I LOVE the command ones that patricia posted. They come in different weights. I have used them numerous times, even for a mirror. Our walls are old, stone and impossible to put nails in, these are awesome.

that's what our walls are, over the rocks. i meant to say they are not easy to nail, like a drywall. they are solid, and impossible to nail. but the Commands work wonderfully on them, and they aren't even super flat surfaces.

I've tried both Velcro and tabs and had problems with both. I've recently come across double sided sticky tape and am in love. I've hung party decorations with it and most recently a 15 lb canvas picture. No issues removing. And it comes in different weight support capacity. You can find it at Walmart, target, home Depot, etc right next to the command strips.
