Yes, your comment is public, but you can make it private if you want. Go to your Ideabook and click Edit (top left corner). Underneath each photo you'll notice a box that says Private Comment. Tick it and only you can view the comment.

I am using an iPad. There is no edit button in the upper left corner on my idea book pictures. Does that only work on the desktop?

Not to worry, follow these instructions instead. Tap on the photo with the comment you want to make private. In the top left corner, tap on the icon with a pen. At the bottom of the pop-up box you can make the comment private by sliding the button to the right, so it becomes green.

When I went to a desktop to log on, I can access the edit on my already posted comments in the idea book. The edit was not available on my iPad. But now I can see how to make the comment private when I first add it.
