Hired contractor for remodel of guest bath. Tile work for shower is complete with grout. However, I am very unhappy with the look but not sure if I'm being too picky. There are several areas where the grout lines are not consistent. In some places it goes much wider then other places very narrow. There are also tiles that are not flush with the others and they appear to stick out from the wall. It is very noticeable when you run your hand across it. But what really bothers me is that the tile sticks out from the painted wall. There is a 1/2 inch gap starting at the top but is over an inch wide at the bottom of the bath tub. (?) It's like the material the tiles are on is too thick. Installer then proceeded to fill in gap with gout. So I have my painted wall, a layer of messy grout then the a nice metal transition strip to the tile. I think this looks very uneven and sloppy. I expected the transition strip to be closer to the wall. Is this common? Looking for advice on if I'm over analyzing the quality of the work or if I should ask the contractor to redo.
