I couldn't get my scanner to work, strange. Anyways, I drew it out and there isn't a huge difference in "elbow room" by having a horseshoe or U-Shaped Island vs a curved, but depending on how large you can make your island, it could be significant enough. Basically keep in mind you want 2' per stool. You would gain the most room for seating by having a rectangular shaped island, and you could potentially use the ends for even more seating (4' deep rectangular islands are the most efficient.) Yes, it does. Aesthetically I want the rectangular shape so that stools look aligned. Stools might look scattered with a curved shape. We won't have overhang at the ends for stools for seating. Thanks so much for your input. Now I have to convince my hubby....
