Need help choosing a sink

I have finally decided to go with a stainless and like the design of American Standard 20-Gauge Single Basin Drop-In or Undermount Stainless Steel Kitchen Sink but it is 20 gauge and I thought I should have at least 18. Any comments?

Here at Julien, we manufacture all of our residential sinks with 16 gauge commercial grade or 18 gauge stainless steel and we would never recommend to go any lower than that. If you go below this thickness (20 or 22 gauge) cost will be cheaper, but quality will drop significantly. The sink material will not absorb sounds and vibrations and you will probably never be able to install a garbage disposal. We believe that the quality difference between 20 and 18 or 16 gauge worths the investment, as the sink is the most useful appliance in the kitchen :)

Drop-In sinks are normally less than 18 gauge. You can find a thicker gauge drop in, but the price will be much higher. If you need help, just let me know the size sink, or your sink base size, and we'd be happy to help.

Thanks so much. This is a combo undermount OR drop in. I want an undermount. My sink base cabinet is 36 in.

You have a stone counter top? And do you want a single bowl or double?

Thank you very much. Do you have any 16 18 gauge with bowls that come in and out so there is option of 1 or 2 bowls? That's what I like about the sink I found.

Hi Kristen, I have a 16 gauge under mount option that does what you were describing. It fits in a 33" sink base cabinet... so it will definitely work in your cabinet. It comes with an acrylic divider that fits with in custom built in grooves, allowing you to have a large single bowl, or two equal double bowls. Is this what you are looking for?
