Landscaping - Pathway Help

We have to rebuild our deck this summer and plan to use composite decking. A little difficult to see from the photos, but we have a wooden pathway that wraps around our entire yard. We don't particularly want to use composite for the pathway as it is quite pricey. Does anyone have any ideas what else we could use or do for the pathway?
