Rethinking siding color. How do you think this would look. Sage siding. white trim and gutters with a red/brown roof.

I'm still a fan of dark gray with red, but I like sage with reddish brown brick. The question is -- will any of those look good with YOUR brick? The best thing to do would be to get paint samples (Benjamin Moore sells little sample bottles for $2.00) and start painting swatches. If you don't want to do that on the house, you can put the swatches on a foam core board, piece of plywood or extra drywall, and stand the board next to the brick. Also, the lighter you go, the more contrast there will be with the brick and you will be back to the chopped up look. The tone needs to match the darkness of the brick. That will help the white trim stand out, also. Don't replace the whole roof just for color. Black is fine -- it goes with most colors.

I like the shingle detailing on the triangle gable on this one for more of a cottage look.

In looking at these pictures, I noticed the sage green siding goes with more of an orange-ish brick. You really have to see the color next to your own brick!

I think a little gabled porch roof like the last picture would do wonders for your house, too. It could overlap the large triangle on top, similar to the picture.

Thanks for you help and the pictures. we need to replace roof also. So would the reddish brown roof be OK with either siding color

Here's dark gray, light gray, with a little bit of black. I wouldn't paint all the trim black, but maybe the front door and the little lines around the windows. The rest of the trim could be light gray.

I could do this all day for someone else -- just can't decide on my own! Lol.

Personally I'd stick with gray or black because I am not a fan of red next to brown. It might look great with dark sage siding! I wish someone would photo-shop these colors for you so you could see the color combinations on your house. Sorry - I don't have that talent/program.

Lots of fantastic color options above. My vote would be to go with sage, or red. The contrast looks amazing. I love the uniqueness of the doorway arch. I'd keep it! :)
