I am renovating my kitchen. I currently have a nice size pantry, but my husband wants a double wall oven and the only place it can go is where the pantry is now. Which means I will have no pantry. The kitchen designer suggested extending 2 wall cabinets so they sit on the counter above 2 base cabinets. These cabinets will not be next to each other but instead on either end of a small "hutch' style grouping of cabinetry. I fear I am losing too much dry goods storage space that is more convenient to see and reach with a pantry. Do most people prefer to have a pantry? Should I ditch the wall oven and go with a range in order to keep the pantry? I would need persuasive arguments to convince the husband. PS- I really have no other space to put a pantry, my kitchen is surrounded by an exterior wall and open space into 3 adjoining rooms.
