First...love love your condo! What view! Gray is a neutral...goes with everything .... So if YOU love it, go crazy...and get it:)

I think the decision is what do you gravitate toward, grays and silvers or browns and more natural finishes, Iknow myself I almost always like the cool siide so I would for sure go gray. We have laminate that looks like slate and it is on the gray scale and I don't think it will ever look dated. By the way it stands up very well to 2 big dogs.

I personally love grey floors and have installed it for many of my clients. Gray is a neutral back drop so it will work well down the road. I recommend thinking more about the feel that you want to achieve in the space. Going grey, creates more of a 'cooler' feel than lighter wood, which brings a touch of 'warmth' to the space. You could still make a space feel warm with grey floors, its just a matter of how you accessorize and furnish. Based on your existing furniture and style your space will become more modern and feel cooler in terms of colour palette.

Interesting comments/pics from all. MAJ Interiors, as a painter I understand the aspect of warms and cools and I, too, gravitate toward a cooler palette. That said, will my condo look too cold or harsh if I take away the warm floors, or will the light and view balance it out?

You can add warmth with accessories . Use corals, reds as accents.

You get great sun light in the space, so I don't think it will look harsh. Again, there are different tones of grey. Grey can also be warm, if you choose a grey that has a bit of a brown undertone. The attached image shows a great array of grey tones and how they differ.

Did you end up installing the hickory fog? I am thinking of getting it.

We did and we absolutely love it. Best decision ever. So easy to maintain and gorgeous. Worth every cent.
