How do we select a faucet to compliment kitchen design

We have an old brick 3 story, built 1887, and are remodeling the kitchen, on a budget, of course. Putting in painted inset cabinets, apron Shaw sink, dark wood floors, and using our family Hoosier cabinet. In general we are trying to have our kitchen look like it's always been there. I like the bridge faucets, but think using two handles is inconvenient and am not crazy about cleaning around 4 holes/fixture pieces. My first choice is a wall faucet, but our window is just a few inches above the counter. Any ideas? Any rule of thumb or design principle I should use in making this decision?

It sounds like it will be beautiful! I have no idea about a rule of thumb, but there are so many choices out there, and since this has to be functional for how you want to live (for example, maybe not wanting 2 handles), I think I would "try" several out at a display wall - actually feeling how it would work for you. You may get some stares as you pretend to be in your kitchen haha, but having that "hands on" experience can really help in the decision-making process. Good luck!!

One rule of thumb is to not put a wall mount faucet on an exterior wall where the pipes could freeze.

Follow up question: Are bridge faucets considered country and would it be out of place in a traditional/transitional kitchen? I have a very standard double stainless steel sink and need a faucet to fill four holes. I like the look of the bridge faucets although I think I might find two handles less convenient than one lever. The windowsill and shutter are very close - they almost touch the back of my current delta waterfall faucet. Trying to find something more visually exciting than going back with the same Delta waterfall faucet.
