Low Growing Perinnial For Along The Walk

We have a long walk from our driveway to our front porch with a place for plants on each side. We have been planting the area with wave petunias but would really like to find a perennial that would provide long lasting blooms or other interest through out the summer months. The area needs bright colors. Any suggestions?

I can't suggest anything, but for others to help you, is the area hit hard by the Sun, i.e. will the soil dry up fast? Plus some plants fair better in full sun while others do better in partly sun and shade.

Phlox and Yarrow are beautiful perennials that bloom all summer. Phlox will bloom into the fall and Yarrow is low maintenance. Shasta Daisies would add cheer and of course, a nice bouquet of fresh cut flowers.

Curt, the area is in full sun but we have worked a lot of compost in the soil and have it heavily mulched so that it retains moisture and the roots don't get too hot. The petunias we have planted there this summer love it so perennials that have similar growing requirements to petunias would work well.
