Something like this but lower to accommodate your window. Floating bedside tables would look good with wall mounted lamps. You might use recycled wood as in the second picture.

I love the recycled Wood. I had considered that, but I don't want it to compete with the floor. I also don't know where to find recycled Wood. I am in Switzerland. I just took another Picture with the shutters partially down to help with the lighting.

I think it would look great to just bring the flooring right on up the wall. Then mount contrasting floating tables on it - maybe in white or another accent color you'd want to add. Then put an area rug 1/3 of the way under the bed

Could the bed sit under the slightly-higher window on the other wall? That would give you more wall space for a higher headboard--which I see being fabricated with foam-covered plywood and dressed up with a cool fabric that complements your bedding. Wall-mount the headboard and slide the bed up to it.

I love this room. I am a fan of the colour scheme and wooden floors. I think you need something more though to make the room pop. Maybe consider not having traditional beside cabinets and having something like a square otterman? I think a low fabric headboard would be good.

The bed cannot be moved. It is too large to fit underneath the other window, or we can't walk and I think the wardrobe wouldn't fit any longer either. It's a waterbed as well, so no rugs can go underneath it. If I used the same Wood as the floor, would I continue it across the entire wall, or just as wide as the bed and night tables?

The bedside tables we have now are only there because I haven't found a decent replacement. They don't go with anything. I would love to attach some onto the wall instead. (Easier for vacuuming too). I have looked around for a bench for the end of the bed, but I am also worried about it becoming a catch-all for someone's clothes. If you know what I mean. :)

I haven't even started thinking about artwork yet either. There really aren't any walls. The small space to the left and right of the bed is pretty much it. The Lady we bought the house from must have had 15 prints on the walls. It was so cluttered. She had a really small bed and had it under the other window.

You could go with a low platform bed & nightstands. Probably will need to be custom made.

I'd take it all the way across the wall but maybe only as high as the spot where the angled ceiling and side walls meets in the corners. That would keep the top of the headboard level and in a straight line without ragged corners as you take it up to the windowsill. it would still be a bit lower than the bottom of the window frame. You could use painter's tape, taping out the proportions to help make a decision. Try it all the way and then just wide enough for the tables to have a nice anchor. If you want it to window level, then limit the width.

HI - Lori B -- Ok this is freaky ... I was just thinking about you yesterday and was wondering what you were doing or did with your planters now that it is spring . Anyway for your wall , I think a quilted fabric that is a tone on tone suttle pattern mostly white covering that whole wall would be easy and interesting and keeping with your clean modern style . You could use a sheets or you could even use a light canvas /twill fabric which would be more casual . Or a white grass texture wallpaper .For the side tables ,see if you can find a floating drawer or shelf to attach to the wall as wide as you can go and then have a very modern thin stature adjustable floor lamps or maybe wall sconces . The sconces could match to the chandelier . The side tables could be glossy white or a raw pine wood finish . Or you could apply some interesting brackets and top with tempered glass . If more bedside storage is needed than a lidded basket could fit under the tables. The lamps could be in the new antiqued cooper or the old gold or chrome or white .

Hi Lefty47! We have been busy, but not with anything that really Shows. We had the terrace Extended in the back and the pool cover was delivered and installed in early May. I have been getting rid of everything we aren't using in the house because the clutter in the cellar was making me crazy. I am working a bit on the entry right now too. Outside, I put some grasses in 2 of the planters, but have to wait on the other ones until hubby repairs the shutters. The landscaper is booked solid until the 18th of August so we have to wait. He is going to re-do out stairs outside to the terrace, extend the path to the pool, prep for sod in the back, move the huge boulders by our front door and make a walkway for us. Right now, we are debating on having concrete walls built or keeping with the large Stone and buying more. We are having a low retaining wall built in the back on the North side of our property to border an easement street so we have more flat area for the grass. Hopefully that wall will be built before July is over. Next year, I will be able to get a garden going, but for right now, it is in some of the planters and on one hugelbed I built.

Brainstorm: slatwall. You could cover the whole back wall, or just do a rectangle of it below the window, then hang bedside shelves, lighting, or any other thing you want on it.

Groveraxle, I LOVE that 1st Picture. Do you think it would look alright with the Wood ceiling? A slat wall like that would look fantastic in my entry. I wonder if I could get it to cover up the fact that my plain wall has 2 parts to it. (1 part is 2 to 3 inches back from the other part and splits it in half.

Glad you like the slatwall idea, Lori B. Not sure why the wood ceiling would make a difference. You could do the slatwall in any material you want, or you could just purchase the commercial version if it's available where you are. It comes in many different finishes.

There are about a million different hooks and hangers for attaching stuff to it, so make sure you get the specs for the distance between the slats if you make your own.
