Need creative ways to enclose exposed pipes

We have stack and water/drain pipes running floor to ceiling in a condo in a wall separating kitchen and living room which we want to remove to open the space. This would create an island feel. How do we enclose pipes creatively as there is a support column 1 ft.
Away on same wall hindering concept of opening wall. Any creative solutions?
