No, I would not put laminate on the wall....you have the cupboards and the floor so in my opinion it would be too much wood. I would pull your TV stand closer to the door (just so the door will close) and then move your TV to the left so that it will be under the shelf. Then find something decorative to put on the wall shelf ie. candles, pottery, statues, wood carvings, etc. Then on your entertainment center....a basket for your remotes, some photos, or books. In the corner a tall plant or a floor lamp would look nice. Then a square rug for the center of your room..You just need more color and your room will be cozy.
