Does anyone know what this weird thing is?

Recently moved into a very old house that I'm rehabbing & I've been making all sorts of fun discoveries--like this thing! It folds flat, opens to a triangle & has a little hammock type thing on the bottom. There are about twenty of them & I found them behind the garage. I'm stumped!!
