Hi! I'm looking into black walnut and birch for flooring. Both solid wood. My cabs are white w/black honed granite and island is black w/super white granite. I love the black walnut...has red tones, but it is very dark. My family room/kitchen do not get direct sun light and the screened lanai will make it even darker. I'm afraid the sea of black walnut will make my house extremely dark. The birch is more rustic gold. Anyone have any other recommendations for a different species?
