I would add a small succulent garden where the magazines are. Moving the magazines to a different self. Also, if you want to keep the bin with magazines try the bin in a different color. It gets lost in the black rack. Maybe try a wooden rustic tray that is similar to your frame on the welcome sign. I'm also noticing it is possibly in the laundry room? Maybe include canisters with laundry items, like powder detergent?

I hate to say, but I don't think the rack works, especially with the lamp (too low). If you want something that can have a lamp, you might want to look for a misson table or an antique table, etc. If keeping the rack, I could remove the lamp and just fill all the shelves with matching baskets in a light brown wicker and be sure to lower the blackboard.

what would be doable is to replace the chalkboard, etc. and put a large picture or print which has a vanishing point landscape. Like a picture of a road that appears wide at the bottom of the painting, to narrow in the distance. This moves your eye beyond the picture and gives one an illusion of space. If you can, paint the inside of a kitchen or pantry cabinet door with chalkboard paint and/or cork board which is glued in place.

Is this for a day spa "Serenity Room" or part of your house? Asking because of the artwork over the chalkboard and the basket of magazines on the cart.

Do you have another table, either a console or sofa style you could put in that place? It almost appears lost and forlorn.

Have you thought of adding a tall decorative floor vase, either in metal or ceramic? If this is a commercial property that might not be such a good idea...someone might mistake it for a trash bin.

I do like the idea of the vanishing landscape!

p.s. There appears enough space between the chalkboard base & cart, if you keep with it, to hang a gallery lamp.

I've seen some gallery lamps that are rather decorative rather than utilitarian. It can be tricky finding accent lighting sometimes.
