Love that rug. Pick any bright color from the rug for drapery panels. Hang panels all the way to the top, even with transom. Do you need the dark shade for light control or privacy? It blocks the light that you say is missing from the room. Your throw and cushions should be bright colors from the rug. White and grays don't add any spark to the room.The stone of the fireplace looks nice but how would you feel about painting it white or a lighter natural tone?

I can't paint the stone the husband would be very upset! I use the dark shade for privacy
