We are putting in Cambria Torquay Quartz countertops (pic attached) and are looking at putting in a plain white subway tile backsplash. We are thinking that perhaps 4x8 or 4x12 tiles will keep things a bit more modern which would likely align with the rest of the house (bathrooms have 4x8 tiles for example).
In the second attached picture, the backsplash we are replacing is currently 4x12 so you can see a little bit of what tiles of that size might look like.

So, do you think we go traditional and safe with 3x6, more modern with 4x8, or go with the extra large 4x12?
