I use the beautiful hand soap and dishwashing soap combos from Williams Sonoma. They come in gorgeous colors and you can buy their chrome caddy to place on your countertop. They look so pretty on the countertop. If you don't have a drawer - I would prob leave the sponge in the small sink.

I have a very attractive simple stainless soap pump for dish soap and I store everything else in a stainless bin under the sink, I also must admit when I don't have company I have the bin on the counter, DW soap just in the cabinet so just scrubbie and dish cloth in the bin with a couple of other cleaners and I hang a tea toel on a suction hook under there too.

I keep a small bottle of dish soap that I keep in my sink, but my sink is a large, deep single basin and you can't see the bottle of soap unless you are standing right over the sink.

You can install a soap dispenser right in your countertop. All you will have to do is have a professional drill a circular hole in your countertop where you want to insert it.

I use an OXO soap dispenser brush which stays in the sink most of the time. Everything else in the cabinet under the sink. I bought a very nice suction thingy which I agree was useless. Home Goods is my go to for pretty hand soaps.

The best place for auto dish-washing detergent is under the sink. As far as sponges and scrub brushes I would opt for a stainless basket that can be attached to the sink and try to just store one sponge or brush to tidy things up. Less is more so if you can get by fewer items it will clean things up. Your countertop is so streamlined that I would be reluctant to add something that would clutter it up. Your sink may also have accessories that may work also. If you go on the sink manufacturer's website you will be able to check this out.

I'm wondering how you store scrub brushes and soap pads under the sink so that they aren't dripping all over the place? We're changing our kitchen island so that the bar and counter are the same height, and going to install liquid detergent and hand soap dispensers, but wondering about all the other gadgets we use to clean our pots and pans? I don't want anything on the counter, so pad holders won't work. I want something that is under the counter that will hold scrub brushes, soap pads and other scrubbers.

You buy a dish that has ridges in the bottom so that the sponge doesn't sit directly on the bottom; air circulates and the sponge dries. Most soap dishes that are made to be soap dishes have these ridges. Brushes and such go in a heavy glass or vase, brush up. I say heavy so it doesn't fall over. Then place those on a lipped tray or in a basket. And your dish soap can go in that basket too. No need for expensive soap dispensers, or paying someone to come out and cut another hole in your counter.

we don't use sponges. we have a "skoy scrub" draped over the barrier between the two sink chambers. it dries out super fast, which feels more sanitary to me.

for delicates like nonstick pans, we keep a soft bottle brush stored in our dish rack. detergent is in a pretty blue dispenser I bought at target. a small microfiber rag (for wiping counters) hangs on a hook on the cabinet door. nothing is stored inside cabinets as it won't get dry enough.

honestly with kitchens, I have a flexible policy when it comes to visual perfection. it's a busy place. stuff is in the drying rack all the time. it's clean and tidy enough, and a fact of life for any normal kitchen. I put it away when having a party, but that's about it.

Ha, my query from 6 years ago has been revived. i tried using a couple different basket things that stick to the inside of the sink with suction cups but the suction cups themselves and the side of the sink they were stuck to ended up grimy with gunk that only I ever cleaned so I got rid of them. Now brush and scrubber things tend to end up on the small side sink or if dry can be dropped into a wire basket hung on the inside of the cupboard door under the sink. Dish soap and hand soap are dispensed from stainless steel containers that sit on the countertop. We don’t use sponges.

@bilyeu4 I use a cleaning tote. All the wet things don't get on anything else.

Elkay has a magnetic system you can buy that should work on any stainless sink. Essentially you stick the magnets to the outside under the counter and the holders stick. Not super easy to apply on an installed sink, but doable. Had mine for three years and very happy. I also bought a different brand that holds a dishcloth with a magnet. Is on Amazon.

I like to keep the pot scrubbers in the dishwasher and that way they are regularly washed with the dishes.
