Coffee table !

Hello!
We are getting a new couch for our new place (the one in the photo is too long). The new sofa will be 7 feet long and is a charcoal grey.

My question is, can we keep the coffee table you see in the photo. It is 33" in diameter and 15.5" tall.

Also- is the wood too light next to the dark wood beams ?? And with grey furniture. We liked that it lightened things up... but I just can't tell if it's too jarring.

Thank you !

Perhaps stain the coffee table in a darker color. The style is great though.

Great coffee table! I see dark beams and dark trim, but a lighter wood flooring, so you have two different wood colors in place. The coffee table would blend with the trim and the beams if it were stained a darker color, but the floors are a lighter wood, so it works with the flooring.

I think the issue is in defining a direction, more than the coffee table itself. Downplay the dark trim and beams and play on the light flooring using the lighter wood furniture, lighter fabric colors and light throw pillows. This would mean keeping your coffee table, choosing a light gray sofa fabric over a charcoal gray, choosing a lighter fabric for the chair and adding throw pillows in lighter fabrics.

Or downplay the lighter floors and follow the darker wood theme in the trim and beam, which you essentially already have due to the dark sofa and chair and dark pillows. You have a mix of dark woods and dark fabrics (piano, beams, trim, sofa, chair) with lighter woods and fabrics (dining table, coffee table, area rug), so it's somewhat disjointed.

We have already ordered the charcoal grey couch (having a baby, so we went darker with the fabric).

We have this table on loan so we don't have to keep it. Wondering- do we keep it ? Or ultimately , do we need more of a maple table ? Also, because the couch is 7 feet long, is this table too small ?? THANK YOU !

Or .... Would it work to keep this light table , and even tho we have dark couch coming, get lighter throw pillows for the room? My instinct is that we need a darker table though... even though I love this one so much.

Charcoal grey w/ maple is gorgeous together. I think the disconnect is the shape, MCM style, rug, and style of house. One thing needs to compliment the other. I love the rug, but it's just not working in this location. The coffee table would probably look better w/ a sectional.

An area rug that is a simple pattern in light gray would not only compliment the sofa and lighten the room, it would create a neutral palette for choosing throw pillows in whatever cheery color appeals to you.

Here a couple of photo concepts for area rugs, along with recommendations for the size and amount of solid throw pillows mixed with a colorful print.
