Would not be the most ideal setup if the machines are at a different levels. That is why there won't be any or many photos on that setup.

IN this picture they are both at the same level, I want the dryer elevated and the washer top load not elevated. It will look unconventional but would be better for my back. If anyone has done this would be interested to hear how it is working out and see a picture.

I can imagine a design in which storage for hampers or bucket-sized objects under the dryer makes sense.

Our son built a pedestal for the dryer, which was great since it made the vent "hole" line up perfectly with the one in the wall, eliminating the need for the vent hose, which also means we didn't need to pull the dryer away from the wall to make room for the vent hose. And I no longer have to lean over as far to pull clothes out of the dryer. Love it!

I have thought of doing the same thing, so I don't have to crawl into the dryer after that last sock. It would not look any stranger than elevating a dishwasher for the same reason, and I have seen people do that. As long as you have adequate counter space somewhere, I say go for it and save your back.

Laundromats do this sometimes. By using a closed base, it won't store baskets for you, but will mean less bending for cleaning the floor beneath.

I think it might look less asymmetrical if you put a counter above the elevated dryer, making the dryer look a bit "built in." Kind of like this, but just for the dryer. You could even put the door like in the pic or hang a fabric skirting.

My husband got me a cute rolling mechanics stool, which I use for the laundry room. my washer/dryer are not elevated, and both are front-loading.
