Curtain position

Tall windows are to the right of the shorter one. Wall with tall windows protrude 3' in front of wall with short window.

I am considering putting up wall-mounted rails (ikea) pretty close to the ceiling and running semi-transparent curtains all the way down to the floor.

The windows are not centered on their respective walls. How should I approach this, when deciding where to limit the rails?

Go wall to wall as high as you can,make both the same hight,you could add a piece of wood trim to the top of the shorter window to give the illusion of them being the same hight

Hang at the ceiling! Treat the windows as if they are one large of the same size. You can even mount on the ceiling!

They should draw to the right wall away from door handle. Have fun!
