How did you float the big green egg?

What support is there for this heavy grill? From what I understand the ceramic expands when hot?

    You are absolutely correct. The ceramic does expand and the BGE needs to be supported from the bottom. There is a steel support that ties it to the steel structure of the stainless counter. Thanks for the question!

    Can you elaborate on the steel support you mention? I don't see it in the photos. I'm currently floating one in concrete and curious if I need to provide additional support or space for heat expansion.

    Looks great but I'm pretty sure BGE does not recommend that. Back when the mini had a stand that supported it like that, a number of them broke under heat, and IIRC BGE discontinued that stand. And the mini has a LOT less weight to support.

    It should be supported from underneath, using the feet or table nest for airflow. I don't see the steel support referenced in the pic? Even with that I'd want the bottom supported in like 3 places, like w/ the feet.
