No, this is the only style roof the house has been built with - that picture makes it look very low and that's not the case. This is a very traditional Greek Revival hipped roof. The back of the house has gables and you might like that treatment. We do have other plans with similar features, but nothing quite like this one!

That plan isn't on our website (yet!). It is sold through Southern Living's site here: http://houseplans.southernliving.com/plans/SL1827

Yes - both! The original home had a stand-alone garage and guest house. Since then, there have been versions with both attached garages and different detached garages. Homeowners have located garages in front of as well as to the side of the house.

I absolutely love this plan! We are planning on building on the coast in SC. The problem is our builder priced it out between $850-950k fo build. Does this seem high?

Coastal SC is not known as an inexpensive place to build ;-) I can't speak to the specific dollar figure, but generally tell people it costs about as much to build (per square foot) as a fairly high-end custom home. Obviously, there are ways to economize and I'm sure your builder has some thoughts about that. Feel free to shoot me an email if you'd like to hear what other people have done. sstern@ourtownplans.com
