I suggest that you find a design concept for your space. That literally means a 'mind's eye view' of what the space will look like when it's complete. Houzz is a great resource for that because you can 'shop' through the images and find bits and pieces of items that you like then assemble them in your own home according to your budget, timing and space. This is the same technique that I use when I speak with clients and it works every time.

I agree with Julie -- create an ideabook of how your want your space to look and pull specific furniture ideas from this. A black table would not be my first choice for this space. Good luck!
