You must really think BIG when you're dealing with a high ceiling. A large painting or a pair of good sized vertical paintings would work. You can also create a mountain out of a molehill, so to speak, by placing moulding around a small piece of art as in the second photo below. A large grouping of artwork would also help fill the space.

Alternately, you could paint the wall above 10' a much darker color, thereby visually lowering the wall height.

Please note also in the first two photos I posted above that the artwork starts not far above the sofa, perhaps 4" in photo 1 and about the same above the accessories in photo 2. Your clock is hung way too high!

Thank you so much for your advice....I even like the table behind the couch for accessories.

we agree with Carolyn you need large artwork placed at the correct height. And yes the clock is too high on the wall. The sofa needs to be pulled off the wall by at least 4 - 6", Some contrasting pillows on the sofa with some texture/color would help. You need larger scale lamps. We have a mini schaunzer too! love 'em! www.luminosodesign.com

Oh I love the pictures Carolyn posted, I feel like a large photo would look best and wouldn't be too distracting in your space! Good luck!!
