High end laminates by Armstrong, Mannington, etc. all have very real looking finishes. The lower on the price scale you go...the lower the quality of the photo graph/finish/feel of the product.

Please do not use laminate in kitchens. The swell in the presence of water...and some curl and peal when the steam from the dishwasher escapes. This is common for most laminates. Choose the HIGHEST END underlay that is VERY THICK/SOLID. A bad underlay = a laminate floor that sounds hollow, bounces and clicks. Bad underlay = cheap feel to the floor. Even a $7/sf laminate can feel like $0.79/sf if you use a low level underlay.
