Stays or Goes?

I just purchased this ornamental grass and I am debating whether to keep it or return it. This corner looks bare and I was hoping the grass would soften the hard line of the corner, but it looks too crowded to me. I am looking for some direction and maybe suggestions regarding another alternative or if I should just leave without any additions.

In my humble opinion, I do not care for the ornamental grass. It is not needed. I see it as something that will collect dust and break away over time. (Sorry to be negative).

Is the tree in the corner real? If so, leave it, and hide your speaker behind it. Move the small table to where speaker was. I don't think the ornamental grass adds to this space, maybe you can use it elsewhere.

Rather than soften the edges, I think the grass just adds clutter. The speaker is what it is, and it doesn't look bad. If it needs to stay there, perhaps it could be pushed closer to the component cabinet so you just have one blocky section instead of two separate ones.

I would get rid of the tree, the mirror, and hide the speaker. Less is more, I think.

Get rid of the grass and get a much larger lamp beside that very bulky furniture. I find this strange place for the stereo stuff is there no where else it can go, the speaker makes sense there but not the audio stuff.

have you ever tried putting the back of the speaker againstthe audio system (I don't know if that messes the sound up ---I am not tech inclined). I was just thinking it might make the two things read as one unit which may (or may not) look better. Something to try...

The mirror is brand new, agree the furniture is too bulky. The grass will be returned. Hubby promised me new furniture some day (plus I'm tired of slip covers) think that day has come.
