Vacuuming should have been enough - a "shop vac" would have been the go-to tool for this type of clean up. Multiple runs paying special attention to the joints.

Do not "damp clean" flooring until all the dust is up/out. LIGHTLY damp cloth (water only) might have been the only way to get that last little bit of dust layer off the floor. The dust between the planks = VACUUM only. With damp cleaning, you run the risk of turning fine dust into MUD.

The bona has now grabbed the dust and "glued" it to the floor/between planks. Bona is great for polyurethane/urethane and their own acrylic finishes. This is a 'once every 2-4 week' product. It doesn't work very well on some finish types. Penetrating oils and Aluminum Oxide don't always get along with Bona.

I would contact the manufacturer of the flooring and ask them what you can do about the "dullness" of your floor. As for the "mud" that is between the planks, a dry tooth brush works well (brand new and with super soft bristles). Be careful not to rub too hard or you run the rist of scratching the finish.

A quick tip: rubbing alcohol in a small, out of the way area of your flooring (closet or behind a door). A quick swipe and let it dry. See if this improves the appearance. Please contact the flooring manufacturer for more detailed instructions - most finishes are OK with rubbing alcohol...others are NOT!

The flooring manufacturer recommends Bona. I vacuumed several times. I went back over the floors with Bina again and it is working. I'm thinking maybe I was not patient enough. The floor was covered in a fine layer of very fine dust. This is not drywall dust.
