Your fireplace has such great character on its own. If you can put the tv in/on a console unit on another wall, I would suggest that. Beautiful hardwood floors!

Would there be a lot of foot traffic when people are watching TV? With the stairs to the left and a doorway to the right, it seems like there would be a lot of activity going back and forth in front of the TV. Is there room to put it on the wall to the right of the window (looking at it from your photo), with the sofa facing it? Not sure if there is room to do that, but if there is, the back of the sofa would create a walkway from the front door to the doorway going into the kitchen. The fireplace is cool - I'd rather put a great piece of art there to draw attention to it. Hope this helps!

I think the tv would be ok on the fireplace. I think you need to change the tile on the fireplace to a brown stone. It will give it a cleaner more modern look. With that change I could see a tv working on the fireplace.
