Kiva fireplace update. Any suggestions

The floor to ceiling kiva fireplace needs to be updated in this mountain home. It presently has a stucco formed mantel. Ugly! What do you suggest? There is also a built in entertainment wall to the left and want to remove and replace with something more updated but in keeping the the mountain home feel. Note log pone visas on the ceiling. Hope the pictures are ok. Thanks
