Thank you. When you say "wall or frame" to attach them do you mean that they would need to sit in concrete and not be put in contact with the earth? Really appreciate it.

Not sure...iit all depends on the design. Most likely they wouldn't go into the ground but the frame that supports them would. You got me curious about what you are doing. If you need further design assistance I can help unless you feel your contractor can figure it out.

Thanks. I will talk with the contractor. I want to paint them as a screen/backdrop for a contemporary seating area. Wish me luck! it isn't a hot area - San Francisco - so I don't think I need to worry about them radiating too much heat.

Do the steel panels slide to cover/access the furnace? I love the texture and detail it adds to a basement space!
