that depends on the style of the home and white trim is timeless. it will never go out of style

I think if a room is contemporary it can look good to paint the trim the same color as the walls, or maybe a shade lighter.

For traditional I would play up the trim with white or off white, I like Navaho white SW

My home is traditional, master walls and trim are all one color, it looks cheap to me like the builder wanted to get the job done as fast as possible.

I think it depends on the type of trim , if it is attractive and you have cove molding or wide baseboards or then the trim is an eye catcher and should be painted white if the trim is like in my MCM house very non- descript I would paint it the same as the walls that's what i did.
