I wouldn't say that looks like a typical religious cross necessarily - it's not longer on the bottom, for instance. Anyway, it's someone's private home, so the designer/decorator surely created something based on the owner's tastes, which will appeal to some and not to others, but the "some" and "others" don't live there and didn't pay for it.

I would consider this whole design sacrarelgious! Clearly, the owner & designer are "trying" to evoke the wrong kind of attention in a home, a place of refuge. Why give an invitation to evil?

Yes. That's an altar. Unbelievably offensive. Of course it's someone else's home, not mine, and people are free to do what they wish, but that makes me want to weep. (of course the fact that altars like that ever got ripped out of churches in the first place makes me want to weep probably even more).
