When you update you might want to think about changing your chairs for something with more style.

i agree about the chairs, they are the wrong style for the kitchen, which is lovely at its core. i would add under counter lighting, change the lighting over the island to include the work top. i,d also wand to raise the work top or lower the table so the distance between is more pleasing. do you have room to increase the work area on the island? where you'd go to refinish would depend on your location and budget. home depot is likely one step up from do it yourself.

Thanks so much for your input. Yes. Those chairs will be replaced and most likely the lighting. There is existing lighting under cabinets. Planning in new quartz countertops as well.
