Counter over Front Load - Clearance

12 years ago
I just had a counter installed over my front loaders and they wrapped the material around. It looks like the W/D are floating in the space much more than online pics - can anyone help with what is standard clearance for a counter over front loaders at the top? There is 2" and it looks strange to me.
Also, the wraparound looks very heavy - I think I should have done a wood panel and just the counter over top but don't think that reworking is probably possible now. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help Houzz community!
