Something lighter for sure since your furniture is dark. The bedding could be a muted blue, creamy pattern that could match the walls or compliment the color and cream drapes or curtains. The art over the bed is pretty. And I would get beefier lamps as those are too petite for the scale of the furniture.

I agree,definitely a shorter but bigger based table lamps. Cream soft patterned bedding would make your room brighter and better.

I would add rods up towards the ceiling and chose a patterned drapery with blue/white (and deep yellow to coordinate with your carpet). You could keep your blinds - just keep them rolled up during the day for a modern feel. Once you find the drapery, the bedding will be easy to coordiante if you select solid pieces (see picture). Beige vs white may be softer with your wood and wall color. I don't think you need anything above the headboard, as once you have lots of lovely pillows, the bedding will be enough of a focal point.
