Small Bedroom NEEDS Complete Swap-out!

My Tommy Bahama bedroom pulled together nicely because I listened to the decorator and spent the big money ($33k), on the four-poster bed (topped with bronze-pewter palm fronds, and rattan head and foot boards), along with this elegant armoire. After 11 years, the room is as serene as I need, and has held up quite well.

The problem?

Even though the bed is only a queen, and my end tables are 12" square, the decor in its entirety seems too heavy for the room.

In addition, and most important, is that my physical limitations resulting from a debilitating illness are making it too difficult to manage the rigor and maneuvering required to change sheets, make/un-make the bed etc., which I must do daily. It is serene when made, and chaos otherwise.

So it is time to get rid of the beautiful Tommy Bahama bedroom and replace everything, with something easy. Unfortunately, I can't give this away because nobody wants a queen. It's not 'young enough' for a child, and couples want a king-sized bed.

That presents a problem because my budget is exactly what I can get from selling the entire room, including lamps, rattan chair, a $300 very large wall picture, drapes, bedding, Pottery Barn end tables etc.,

Although selling requires very little rigor, it is still more than I can manage.

I am unable to begin to see a room in which I can combine serenity, and character, with the most ease of maintenance.

A futon? A zero-gravity chair even. I don't know. I am in pain all night, and seriously am considering an option which may not even include a bed.

I have no surface area in my loft, and would consider making the bedroom into a cozy two-chaired rocker/recliner/swivel/glider with a table between and lighting just right, with room on the floor to read to grandchildren.

How can I use the Pottery Barn chairs that moms use in their newborn's room? Even if I had the $, I'm 5'9" and I can put my head back on those chairs and sleep. I can't sleep without pain anywhere or anyway I've tried. I'm considering this option very seriously.

I am also considering donating the entire bedroom to " Habitat for humanity". would be thrilled to be able to do that. And before I look like a saint, know that I like that they pick up.

Goal is to be able to sleep, next best thing is to love love love the room. When you have lived in violence and chaos, and you are finally free from it ( almost), your surroundings matter all the more. Whatever is calming to the eye is helpful to calm the brain.

Can't drive. No income. Husband exists, but that's enough about him.

I may donate even before the idea of what comes next takes shape. Because I use it as long as it is here. But it costs me more physically to keep it.

If there is a room already in this app, that may be the room I'm trying to see but can't, please help me to see it.

BTW. I have a walk in closet that I don't have enough clothes to fill it. That is not to say I need clothes, I mention it because I do not curren
