From the photos I would say the TV will be too high above the fireplace - you will end up with neck ache! If you put it between the two windows you may find you are facing sunlight all the time, if watching TV during the day or early evening (depending on which way the house faces). Could you not put it on a cabinet to the left of the fireplace?

The TV is too high if its above the fireplace. I would suggest investing in a cabinet or a stand for the TV.

What a cool space!! Our TV is mounted pretty high and everyone thought it would be a pain in the neck (literally) but it has worked out well. I think if your couch is far enough way, mounting the TV a bit higher can make it more relaxing because you are sort of reclining to watch. I am following you now so I can see what you do! LOVE your house!

I have found that tv's positioned about 2.5 feet from the floor to the bottom of the screen most comfortable. Thats about head height 'once you're sitting down' on the chair or sofa you will be viewing from. It does appear low, when standing, but for all round viewing and sound it's the logical height for comfort. Screens above fireplaces are just too dominant, resist that option at all costs.

From your photos, I agree with Carrie in saying that the TV would actually work above the fireplace. It may seem high, but the truth is, it'll still be about the same height it is now, just without the stand. If you put it above the fireplace, it will act as the focal point of that room and give a clear separation between your family room and your dining room. However, if you put it between the two windows, then it seems to me it may look out of place. On another note though, your home is lovely, keep us posted on what you decide :)

What if you turn the sectional so that it's in front of the window and put your TV on the short wall opposite the windows?

Can you upload some example pictures. Thanks

What a great home you have!
Neither personally nor professionally would I recommend hanging your TV over your fireplace. Only on a very rare occasion have I accepted that location as viable, & it coincided w/a much lower fireplace.
If you have to deal with windows & a TV in the same room, then it's best to have them located on the same wall versus opposite in order to minimize glare.
I would definitely choose the area between your 2 matching windows. Since you need coverage anyway, then the proper window treatment design will allow for optimal TV viewing.
As an ideal accompaniment to your contemporary tastes, I would consider "luminettes" as a functional & also cleanly designed option for both your living & dining rooms.
They allow for complete privacy or can provide a pleasant filtered effect as well as infusing a softness that doesn't distract (& helps to eliminate the echo chamber).
I would also mount them on the outside of your windows from each corner until they meet the edge of your TV.
    Here's a pic & happy decorating!

I would put it on the wall between the 2 windows if that would be possible. Or you will have to put it off to the side of the fireplace.

Joe, thanks for the advice. I will take your advice regarding putting it in the left wall with a arm that move into consideration. I think on the fireplace will not be an option. Will take pics when it is final. I m still in decoration process of the whole house.
