Nope, no progress. Though I have tried a few of the suggestions from the last time I posted. We think the room should at least hold the tv (we don't have any others in the living room or bedrooms), with room for the kids to play video games, but beyond that we're not sure. We've considered a large indoor trampoline, but it seems like it would be an eyesore… The kids use the open space for gymnastics right now :) Here's a couple more angles too. Thanks!

i'm not too sure what do you mean by dividing the room. do you wan to do it with just the furniture or do you want install some separation units like this

Don't know the kid's ages, but if they're doing gymnastics consider making this room a fun family room. You could get them some colorful tumbling mats to use. Here is a loft area to inspire. Put a ladder up to and a 'bridge' between the two block sections that have a flat ceiling to make a fun reading nook and quiet play area for them? Rail it nicely and it can even make a great sleep-over area for when they have overnight guests. I still think a desk or two built in to the right of the protruding partition would keep the floor area from there to the skylight windows open. I'd keep the TV area where you have it now, but put a credenza under the TV that pretty much fills that wall. Pull your sofa and two chairs forward to nestle around a colorful area rug for enjoying TV.. Under the window you could add a console table and lamps. Three colorful panels there and a matching pair where you have the white ones will add more lift to the room. They should touch the floor though.

Some design seperation units can divide the room seamlessly. We have used our Smart Film on a tempered glass seperation wall giving the client the ability to open and close the room off at the flick of a switch. This also gave the client a 1080p wall TV on the film. Good luck

Decoenthusiaste, I like the direction you're suggesting. We have considered putting in desks, under the skylights, but had forgotten about it. I think that's a great idea. Unfortunately, the space above is only 3 feet tall, so I don't think we'll be able to set up area to play or sleep up there. My 3 kids are 4-8 years old. I think a tv credenza is a good idea too. I'm laughing about the curtain comment, I hung the rod too high, I definitely need to fix that. We're going to paint, which is why we have the white curtains. Wheellok smart film, do you have any pictures of what you're talking about?

My suggestion did not include desks under the skylights but on the opposite side where the partition separates them slightly from the TV area. I'd keep the area at the skylights open and use all that floor space for the gymnastics center &/or Wii gaming area.
