So this table is being replaced with a farmers table a found on Craigslist. I wanted to chalk paint the bottom white and the top gray. The buffet I was going to replace with a shaker buffet painted white. I have two young kids. I found a gray stained table I loved from room and board. They actually told me not to buy it because it wasn't meant to withstand the heavy use a family puts on a table. I have purchased 8 unfinished mission style chairs that I was going to have sprayed with a white lacquer paint to go with the table. Should I have the chairs stained a dark color instead?
