If you love your wicker baskets and would like to see them more, then do display them. However, in my experience everything that goes on top of cabinets or on top of the fridge gets dusty and somewhat sticky/greasy. Personally I would agree with Don's thoughts above. Things on top of kitchen cupboards tend to create a cluttered kitchy look. Perhaps you could display one or two at a time on a coffee table or bookshelf.

The only wicker I would suggest is to replace your garbage can for a large wicker (laundry type) basket. Leave the others in the laundry room, where I'm sure they can be used for storage and line with a linen cloth for added interest.

Thanks, all! I was happy w the baskets living in my laundry room but wondered if i may have been missing something decor wise. We use them on various outings. I do have a bit of kitsch our breakfast area (including a piece of fake greenery ;) ) & it makes it homey for our kids.

I like baskets and I like your kitchen. Please don't do a disservice to them both by putting the baskets on top of the cabinets :)

Dissenting opinion: I like the kitchy look of a few things on top of cabinets, and baskets can be a good choice because they're large and not particularly cluttery. Try both ways and see which you prefer. You will have to rinse them off once in a while. :)
