Hi, the refrigerator is to the left, just outside the frame of the photo - it's in a 9' wide run of cabinetry. I've found this layout to be very efficient - no wasted corners! Thanks for asking. Katie

Hi West Elevation Architects, a little query from New Zealand. What length are the benches. Such a lovely design for a small space:)

Hi Kiwidane - by benches I'm assuming counter lengths? The rear is 9 feet, the island is 7'6", and the length with Refrigerator and Pantry is 8'6. It's a very efficient kitchen layout (it was my own personal residence) and I loved cooking in it. No lost corners, and very good for entertaining! Thanks for your inquiry. Katie

It looks like you have the window ledge that is below the island counter height. Does the island go all the way up to the window, or is there a gap?

Hi mozzy_77. the island stops short of the exterior wall by 24". Not a full walkway - but enough to slide through. It's a modest home, about 1650 square feet - so every inch counts!
