Shiplap siding

Hi! What are the board sizes for the siding? Appears to be 10" and 4" with 1" shiplap, can you confirm? Also, were the smaller boards selected for darker color or stained in the field to achieve this look? Thanks!

That's correct, the cedar siding is alternating shiplaps of 1x10 and 1x4 material. The thought was to contrast with the the consistent lap siding on the original house. The stain was applied consistently; it's the variation within the material that created the contrast.
