Kitchen curtain ideas

I am looking for ideas for a window treatment. The cabinets are white, counter top and back splash are beige, for now. (In the future we plan to upgrade.) Oak laminate floors. We just painted the walls a neutral color. There is 12" above the window and 9 1/2" on each side. Color favorites are green and burgundy.

Interior, louvered shutters in one of your preferred colors would look great. They would also provide you with the option of a view when open. They are easy to install and can be found in most home/hardware stores and on the web. Best, Angela.

Hi tere25, I think it's just a matter of changing the window blinds to something softer such as a woven roller shade to give some texture and warmth.

Thanks for your suggestions...you have presented me with 3 different options to consider. We just moved to Texas from PA and I hear that the summers get really hot, so I need to keep in mind that the sun needs to be blocked.
