Thank you very much for your suggestion. I think that I may have found a contractor who can help. I'll send pictures.

Just finished a dining table with that shattered glass as a centre piece. Check out my profile pics. You can find it at a store that sells tempered glass. Buy a sheet of the size you think you need and break it into the sized pieces you want. Use gloves, it's still sharp even though it's tempered.
