Trim the door with a nice frame, then add some shutters to the window. Under the window put a nice bench and add some big urns with greenery or plants. They could go on either side of the bench or on either side of the columns to welcome people. I would also clean up the concrete if you can, maybe paint it or stain it if the stains won't come out. It looks dingy.
This could be a relatively cheaper way to go. I like your color scheme idea. Grey paint, black shutters, black bench. Black urns with beautiful red flowers or greenery ( boxwood ) would be nice. Have fun and good luck with your store

Try googling Cannery Row Monterey. It might not be location specific but they've transformed an old fish canning district into a hugely successful tourist attraction (with a little help from John Steinbeck and the Aquarium).

Stop by my office sometime, we are right behind you at Lincoln and Henry in the restored gas station. Will work for shrimp!

And remember that all exterior changes require a COA from the historic review board. There is no cost and they are eager to help. Everything in the Victorian district is staff level so none of the drama of going in front of the full board.
