what kind of wood was used for the outside paneling and how was it finished / sealed?

Thank you for your question. Clopay only provided the glass garage door for this Dwell magazine showcase home located near Chapel Hill, North Carolina, so unfortunately we do not know for certain the wood species or finish. It is called the 2007 NextHouse and Empyrean International LLC was the builder.
